This grade of DMSO is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry for drug delivery, analytical applications, and also as a solvent in pharmaceutical synthesis. In the past if DMSO was packaged in plastic containers using BPA (Bis Phenol A) as a plasticizer it would easily leach into the DMSO and therefore be consumed or absorbed into skin.
