The best time to test is in the morning upon waking. Spit out any film or excess saliva BEFORE drinking, brushing your teeth, or smoking. Allow more saliva to form under the tongue. Capture this saliva in a spoon or clean container and dip the pH paper in the saliva. Match Color and Read immediately. You may test saliva throughout the day to determine how your diet affects your pH, but this must be done 2 hours after eating or drinking, etc. This is why you need a .2 close range kit to monitor your health.
