Glass Buchner funnels containing fritted discs are especially useful where filter paper would be attacked by the material being filtered. Porosity is given by the range specified below with pore size held toward the minimum pore diameter. Complies with ASTM E-128 as described in Maximum Pore Diameter and Permeability of Rigid Porous Filters for Laboratory Use. Customized by our glassblower to have a standard taper female 10/30 ground glass joint at the top, so it can be connected to other glassware if needed. The original funnel appears to have been catalogue number 7186-04 and its original outer diameter was slightly smaller than that of the 10/30 joint stem. The spacing between the fritted disc and the bottom of the ground glass taper is about 5 cm, so we estimate a capacity of 4 mL.
